These were the winners in the annual tailgate competition, sponsored by The Capital Newspaper, at yesterday's 33rd annual Marlborough Hunt Races:

Best Small Group: Cook, Wine & Drinker - Dr. and Mrs. P. Norman Ove of Arnold.
Best Large Group: Rustler's Rhapsody - David Price of Annapolis.
Best Food: Chance Inc. of Arnold.
Best Beverage: The "Peep"lechase of Arnold.
Best Theme: Plaid-a-palooza of Salisbury.
Most Spirited: Schooner Woodwind Cruises of Annapolis.
Best Newcomer: Killarney House of Davidsonville.
Judges' Special Recognition: America's Heroes of Riva.
